And it's here again - pre-Christmas time, when you have to finish many tasks, complete projects and, in addition, provide Christmas gifts. Not only for family and loved ones, the employer must also think about his people at work.
The purpose of giving a gift is to please, appreciate and evoke a good feeling in the recipient. Which is a difficult task among loved ones and even more difficult at work. After all, so many people, so many tastes, interests, desires. And the company's budget is never big enough...
"Edenred brings a solution to just such challenges. Since we monitor, find out and evaluate the desires and needs of employees on the one hand and the possibilities of employers on the other in various ways, we are able to create and offer benefits, rewards and gifts that will bring satisfaction to both parties." said Lívia Bachratá, Director of Public Affairs at Edenred.
Wine, pate or candlestick?
Our long-term experience shows that it is reasonable to choose different gifts for business partners and others for your employees.
A company logo on the attention of cooperating companies, suppliers, customers and clients is a matter of prestige and a reminder. It's just convenient.
But employees don't always appreciate a towel, candlestick or USB stick with their employer's logo. Not because the logo or gift has no value, but because it is obvious at first glance that it is not a personal reward and thank you.
"A year-end reward in the form of a gift in the broad sense of the word has a completely different value for employees if it is personal. This means, for example, delivered personally and especially supplemented by a human word, a mention of a specific good performance of a specific employee. The second important factor is that the gift itself has value for the employee, which means that it should please him and not give the impression that it is just some kind of mandatory trip, typical for the end of the calendar year." added L. Bachratá.
Solutions for satisfaction
Edenred's data shows that employees greatly appreciate the reward in the form of money. At the same time, however, they can also appreciate other benefits. "We have received very good feedback from employees on the Benefits wallet on the Edenred card. It is an electronic form of Edenred Gift and Service vouchers. Thanks to it, every employee can choose which leisure activity, service or gift to turn it into in order to make themselves happy, improve their health, education or fitness." specified L. Bachratá.
These benefits for the Edenred card can be paid from the social fund, which is exempt from taxes and levies, or by a contribution in accordance with the Income Tax Act, which allows people to be rewarded year-round in non-monetary form up to €500. The condition is that the employer does not include these costs in tax expenses.
Simple administration
Recharging the Edenred card is very simple. In addition, the gifted employee has an application for his card, where he can see the current balance of his benefits and a list of partner locations where he can pay with the card. Google Pay and Apple Pay payments are also offered as a matter of course for us for users of our products and services.
The employer, or the person authorized by him, sets the specific type and value of the Christmas reward for each employee. And he gets the gift at a time that suits him and in a way that suits him anywhere in Slovakia thanks to the widest acceptance network of our partners. Either he pays for services or goods directly with a card, or he does it through the application.
"Employees like to be able to choose gifts and rewards according to their preferences and needs. Edenred Benefits gives every employee the opportunity to freely choose a reward that will really please them." L. Bachratá is convinced. It is based on hard data: up to 94% of employees appreciate such a form of benefits and rewards from the employer that they can use for relaxation, sports, culture or buying a gift according to their own ideas. An even more interesting figure is 99 - up to that many percent of employees according to Edenred surveys, this form of remuneration motivates them to perform better.
"Thanking, rewarding and at the same time motivating the employee to continue working with adequate enthusiasm and commitment can be achieved by choosing a suitable gift. The time before Christmas is ideal not only for taking stock, but also for promoting good relations with employees. A reasonable employer should take advantage of this," concluded L. Bachratá.
