📊 According to Eurostat surveys, in Slovakia we throw away more than 530 thousand tons of food waste annually, which is almost 100 kg per person. The application has come up with the solution Munch.sk, which fights against food waste in Slovakia. ✅
🥐 This app connects restaurants, bakeries, shops and cafes with people who want to save food that would otherwise end up in the trash. By purchasing food through Munch, you will not only avoid waste, but also save money - restaurants offer their meals at a discount of 50 to 70%. 🌎
♻️ The idea to create Munch (read more TU) was born in the minds of four young men in Hungary. Inspired by successful foreign projects, Botond Zsoldos, Bence Zwecker, Albert Wettstein and Kirill Perepelica founded Munch in 2020 with the aim of fighting food waste. The motto of the project is that even small steps by individuals can lead to big changes.
📲 And how does it work? Just download the Munch app, search for a business near you, and book a package. Although the service is currently available in Bratislava, the founders plan to expand it to other Slovak cities this year (Trnava in February, and Košice from March).
