New meal allowance amounts from December 1, 2025

The Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic proposes an increase in the value of the meal allowance on the basis of an increase in the prices of meals and non-alcoholic beverages in restaurant catering.

After eight months, the value of the meal allowance changes again.

day 28. 10. 2025 was published in the Collection of Laws "Measure of the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic on the amounts of meal allowance No. 280/2025 Coll." according to which the amounts of meal allowances for business trips will change from December 1, 2025:

• for a time zone of 5 hours to 12 hours of business trip to € 9,30
• for a time zone of 12 hours to 18 hours of business trip to € 13,80
• for time zones over 18 hours of business trip to € 20,60

In the context of the new measure, it is:

• new optimal value of the meal voucher €9,30
• new minimum value of the meal voucher €6,98

The employee is entitled to the new amount of meal allowance from the first day of the calendar month in which it is published in the Collection of Laws of the Slovak Republic, i.e. from December 1, 2025.

Therefore, do not forget to adjust the nominal value of the meal allowance for your employees today.

This increase still does not reflect the real costs of employees. Lunch prices are constantly increasing in all regions of Slovakia.

The amounts are based on the actual spending of employees in catering establishments during working hours in the form of the most widespread Edenred meal card, while the prices always include the entire expenditure on food, refreshments or coffee.
