The labor market is one of the fastest changing areas. HR experts know how important it is to keep up with the times, to control the moods and preferences of employers, but also employees, in order to maintain balance and satisfaction on both sides. We will be happy to contribute our data - we know what work benefits are currently in.
We specialize in benefits that best meet the needs of both employers and employees. Our work could not be done well without good data. That's why we regularly conduct surveys about the moods, preferences and needs of both employers and employees.
From our September Food barometer, in which 1 respondents took part, it follows that food support plays a direct role in the majority of employees.
Meal cards are top
"Knowing what employees value in terms of benefits is extremely valuable because it is a powerful tool for strengthening their loyalty and investing company resources effectively." said LÃvia Bachratá, Director of Public Affairs at Edenred.
By the way, the global Edenred Food program, which is a valuable source of information not only for Edenred Slovakia, celebrates its 15th birthday in October. On this occasion, a meeting will be held where we will also evaluate the global survey results. We will definitely share them, because it is certain that they will be interesting.
Based on the results of the September survey, we recommend that employers focus primarily on the meal allowance. "Even though the moods and needs of people on the labor market change relatively often, they remain conservative when it comes to food allowances. As many as 35,8 percent of survey respondents consider it to be the most popular work benefit," said L. Bachratá.
However, for up to 62 percent of respondents, the meal allowance from the employer is not enough, and at the end of the month they have to pay for their lunches in full by themselves.
Balance is also important
The survey also shows that employees need more time for rest and regeneration in order to be able to fully manage their work duties and tasks. This is also evidenced by the second place in the popularity of benefits in the Edenred survey.
"The second most popular benefit is paid vacation beyond the scope of the law. This benefit is considered the most popular and therefore the most important by 15,4 percent of respondents. It was even overtaken by a benefit in the form of flexible working hours, which is key for 14,9 percent of respondents," continues the Director of Public Affairs at Edenred.
According to our survey, the fourth most popular benefit is partial work from home (14,6 percent), followed by the possibility of career growth (6,6 percent), health care benefits (6,3 percent), and the possibility of further education (3,9 percent ) and financial support for home office equipment (2,3 percent). "While this is accurate data that is valuable for decision-making, each employer should of course adapt it to the nature of their business and the way their employees work," added L. Bachratá.
Relationships are more than money
We also consider data on what brings employees satisfaction at work to be extremely important for employers. It will probably surprise you that more than money it is interpersonal relationships at the workplace. Of course, the amount of salary remains important.
"Up to 33,7 percent of respondents consider interpersonal relations at the workplace to be the main factor in job satisfaction. For years, we have also been told by other surveys that as long as things are creaking between people at work, the amount of wages cannot erase it in the long term. At work, people need to feel good, then they also work well. Therefore, we would like to support and inspire employers in creating good interpersonal relations in the workplace, there are several tools for this, which are good to combine," said L. Bachratá.
Salary is the main factor of satisfaction for 32,2 percent of employees. A pleasant working environment, which is important for 17,9 percent of respondents, is followed by a long distance. "The supervisor's approach, feedback and evaluation of the employee's work also came out as important. These things are worth nothing in financial terms, but they are worth the application. A good manager and leader can get along with his subordinates, knows their strengths and weaknesses and directs, praises and supports them accordingly. For employees, this is an important factor that motivates them to work at their best," concludes the results of the Foodbarometer survey L. Bachratá from Edenred.
