When we come together, we can feed thousands of people. Join the ShareTheMeal Challenge

It only takes 70 cents and a few seconds to give someone on the other side of the world something to eat. This year, Edenred is also participating in the international ShareTheMeal Challenge initiative, with which we, together with our partners, clients and the general public, want to help provide 100 meals for people living in areas affected by conflict, natural disasters or extreme poverty.

According to the UN World Food Programme, approximately 319 million people face severe food insecurity today. Hidden within that huge number are specific families and children who do not know when they will have access to food again.

That's why we've been supporting the ShareTheMeal Challenge for several years now. We believe that some big problems can be solved with small steps. In this case, that small step is a donation of 70 cents. That little is enough to provide one full meal for a person in need.

Little and yet so much

It may seem like a small amount. But when thousands of people come together, it creates a helping hand that has a real impact. Last year's campaign also showed that solidarity works - together we managed to exceed the original goal and provide more than 102,900 meals.

That is why we at Edenred have decided to continue supporting this project. The goal is to once again provide at least 100 meals by involving companies, employers, our partners and individuals in the campaign.

"Last year's campaign showed that even small actions can bring big results when many people get involved. Donating a single meal costs just 70 cents and takes just a few seconds. When you connect millions of people, the true power of solidarity is created," said Arnaud Erulin, Chief Operating Officer Benefits & Engagement of the Edenred group.

Aid that also makes sense from an economic perspective

Helping people in need is primarily a question of humanity. At the same time, there is data that shows that investing in nutrition is among the most effective forms of aid.

According to the World Bank, every euro invested in nutrition brings an average social and economic benefit of up to 23 euros. Adequate nutrition means better health, higher school attendance of children, better job opportunities, and greater resilience of communities to future crises.

The actual distribution of food remains in the hands of the UN World Food Programme (WFP), the largest humanitarian organisation of its kind in the world. It is thanks to it that aid reaches directly where it is really needed – to areas affected by wars, natural disasters or extreme poverty.

"When people see their collective contributions being transformed into concrete meals for families in crisis areas, they realize that they too can be part of the solution to global hunger. And that even small contributions can have a big impact," says Virginia Villar Arribas, Director of WFP's Private Sector Partnerships Department.

Helping is easy

To help through ShareTheMeal Challenge It only takes a few seconds and a contribution of 70 cents. You can donate via the app ShareTheMeal or via link Edenred x ShareTheMeal.

Anyone can join the challenge – individuals, companies, employers, and our partner businesses. We believe that the true power of help lies in collaboration.

"We believe that many people in Slovakia will join the challenge and we will once again show that even a small donation can have a big impact," said Lívia Bachratá, Director of Public Affairs at Edenred Slovensko.

Small actions change the world

At Edenred, we have long believed that food is much more than just a daily necessity. It brings people together, brings a sense of security and creates space for shared moments. That is why supporting access to food is a natural part of what we do every day.

ShareTheMeal Challenge is a continuation of this idea for us. It shows that technology, partnerships and a willingness to help can together produce concrete results.

Last year, we managed to exceed our goal together. This success was the result of thousands of small decisions made by people who decided to help. We believe that this year we will also be able to provide at least 100 meals together. That is why we would be happy if you would become part of this challenge. Sometimes, all it takes is 70 cents, a few clicks, and a desire to help someone we don't even know, but whose life will be fundamentally improved by food.
