Edenred joins forces with the World Food Programme to fight hunger. Just 70 cents can provide one meal for a person in need

Edenred supports the UN World Food Programme (WFP). It officially joined the organization in Paris, which became the center of the discussion on global nutrition for two days.

The Nutrition for Growth Summit, held in the French capital, brought together leading figures from humanitarian aid, politics and business. The need for equitable access to food was one of the central themes. We are proud that Edenred was involved at a global level. Not only in words, but especially in action Edenred mobilizes its global network

As a global leader in digital payment solutions for food services, Edenred has been helping employees secure quality food for decades. However, we are constantly taking our mission even further, implementing activities to combat food waste and ensure that as many people as possible in the world have access to wholesome food.

That is why this year, in all countries where Edenred operates, we will be reaching out to around 60 million users with the Share The Meal initiative, inviting them to join us in the fight against hunger. The first goal of our global campaign is to raise funds for 100 meals. Edenred has already donated €000, which will cover the first 11 meals.

Hunger in the 21st century

Despite the world economy developing and growing, hunger remains one of the biggest global challenges. The UN World Food Programme (WFP) plays a key role in addressing this crisis, but it needs the support of private sector partners to be truly effective.

Edenred is aware of its responsibility and has decided to use its extensive network to raise awareness of this important topic and motivate people to take action, specifically to fight hunger.

"Our digital solutions help tens of millions of people secure food every day. We believe that by working together, we can do more and support those who need it most. Partnering with the World Food Programme is a natural step forward for us," said Bertrand Dumazy, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Edenred.

Everyone can help

The Share The Meal initiative was launched in 2015 and its simple donation model has helped raise funds for millions of meals. It seems like it takes very little to provide a meal for someone in need - just €0,70.

"Hunger is a solvable problem if we work together," is convinced Virginia Villar Arribas, WFP's Deputy Director for Private Sector Partnerships. "Thanks to Edenred, our message will reach a wide audience and gain the support of millions of users around the world."

Real change for a better world

Edenred will actively support the dissemination of this appeal through email communication, in-app notifications, promotional banners, public events and social media. The aim is not only to raise funds for food, but also to spread awareness about the importance of nutrition and fair access to food.

Our collaboration with WFP is proof that corporate social responsibility is not just a slogan, but a deed that can bring real changes in the lives of those in need. Everyone can simply contribute to a good cause and help provide food for people in need. Together we can achieve great things.
