Edenred 2024 CSR activities

Social responsibility is a daily reality for Edenred

The Edenred Group operates in 45 countries around the world and in this large territory fulfills the CSR strategy in various ways, which, however, stand on common pillars: Ideal People - improving the quality of life, Ideal Planet - environmental protection and  Ideal Progress - responsible creation of value. In Slovakia, we took many steps in 2024 to be responsible towards our employees, partners and the environment.

We take the SCR strategy very seriously. Not only does it help us stand out from the competition, but it also helps improve the lives of all of us. Instead of empty phrases and slogans, we have precisely set goals and methods of measuring them, so that we do not lose the precious certificates and evaluations that we have already obtained as part of CSR and that we move forward.

The Munch Project

In 2024, we started cooperation with the Munch.eco application, which saves money and at the same time fights against food waste. With the Munch app, users can easily browse their favorite stores and shop at 50-70 percent off.

"Food waste is still a big problem. While there is an excess of them somewhere, they are essentially lacking elsewhere. That's why at Edenred we welcome and support programs and apps that help bridge these gaps. Edenred Slovakia is the only benefits provider that supports the Munch application, and we allow Edenred card holders to pay for food with a meal card as well," said Lívia Bachratá, Director of Public Affairs at Edenred.

Help in need

Throughout the year 2024, Edenred cooperated with several non-profit organizations, for example with Slovak Catholic charity or with the organization dakujeme.sk, which receives help for children and single-parent households in need.

"During the year, Edenred Slovakia organized several material collections for people in need. We also helped provide them with meal tickets or meal cards. We realize that this is a drop in the ocean, but at the same time, every drop of help is important. In order for people to live a quality life, work or study, they need stability, a roof over their head and quality food," continues L. Bachratá.

Happiness in a shoebox

Our employees and the Edenred company regularly participate in the already traditional event aimed at helping seniors How much love can fit in a shoebox. We like the meaning of the project, which teaches us that gifts don't have to be big and flashy, but it's important to think about others, empathize with them and guess what might make them happy, so they don't feel lonely, but important.

"This year, too, we created a really big pile of boxes and, on behalf of Edenred, we handed them over to an organization that will distribute them to seniors by Christmas. Every year, 70 seniors receive help and thanks in this way, who greatly appreciate this help and kind gesture!" reviewed the Director of Public Affairs at Edenred.

Education about a healthy lifestyle

For 12 years, Edenred Slovakia has been part of the multinational FOOD project, the goal of which is to find ways to healthy eating and a balanced lifestyle. Together with our project ambassador, healthy lifestyle expert Veronika Hanáková, we have been educating Slovakia about the importance of a healthy lifestyle for the past 12 months.

"Educational activities, workshops and various other events are intended for our employees and the general public. Our surveys repeatedly show that people are increasingly aware of the importance of diet and lifestyle in overall well-being, health, and that good work performance is related to diet. We have already done many activities in this direction and we will continue them," L. Bachratá shared the good news.

Movement for patients

In September, October and November, Edenred Slovakia employees participated in a group challenge Edenraid. The aim of the challenge was to move - walk, cycle or run. Every kilometer was subsequently turned into money for the multinational organization Doctors Without Borders.

Almost 6 "Edenredák" from 200 countries participated in the charity challenge. Together, they traveled 45 kilometers, for which Edenred donated 2 euros to Doctors Without Borders.

The Slovaks excelled again this year! Not only did 100 percent of Edenred employees take part in Edenraid, Slovakia, together with Singapore, Poland, the USA and Taiwan, made up the top five, the participants of which covered the most kilometers. Specifically, each involved Edenred Slovak traveled a respectable 668 km.

Responsible value creation

"To CSR activities, specifically under the pillar Ideal Progress - Responsible value creation, it also includes the constant improvement of the quality of our services. Again this year, we successfully passed the re-certification audit of ISO 9001 and ISO 27001. It is important for us to be a trustworthy partner for our clients. That is also why we have set new goals within this pillar that we want to achieve by 2030," said L. Bachratá.

These include, for example, the goal that through our solutions and acceptance network, 80 percent of grocers learn about sustainable food topics, the possibilities of reducing food waste and alternative mobility solutions. In addition to the fact that by 2030 we want at least 96 percent of transaction volume authorization processes to be carried out through a certified platform, we will also focus on ensuring that our employees and casual workers recognize the ethics charter.
