Legal obligations of the employer

Employers' obligations in providing catering staff

The current legislation requires employers following duties in the catering staff:

provide catering to employees at the workplace or in the vicinity financially contribute to catering
  • in its own catering facilities
  • in catering facilities of another employer
  • through a legal person who has authority to provide catering services
  • means a natural person who is authorized to provide catering services
allowance provided by the Labor Code
  • at least 55% of meal price*
  • more than 55% of meal price provided on a business trip lasting 5 to 12 hours
allowance provided by the Social fund Code
the extent and according to the principles agreed in the collective agreement or internal rules to ensure catering beyond the scope provided in the Labor Code

* When providing catering staff through natural or legal person who has authority to provide catering services then the price of food means the value of luncheon vouchers.

The value of luncheon vouchers must be at least 75% of board money provided on a business trip lasting 5 to 12 hours under a special regulation.
